A Bexar County judge sentenced a father who beat his 2-year-old son because he thought he was gay to six years in prison. Francisco Ricardo Sotelo-Baez , 23, pleaded no contest to injury to child with intent to cause bodily injury. On Wednesday, he remained at the Bexar County jail awaiting to be transferred to prison. 187th District Court Judge Stephanie R. Boyd sentenced Sotelo-Baez as part of a plea deal. The assault resulted in the child having bruising and swelling in the face, Boyd said.
