Prioritize well-being of children, students, parents, teachers told
“These are very difficult times, I’m sure you know that our lives have already been disrupted but more than that, our teachers and our parents are very anxious — they have a lot of fears about the coming school year,” Luistro said in a town hall meeting organized by Rotary District 3830 on Sept. 1.
In a video message, Luistro congratulated Rotary District 3830 for coming up with the initiative to help parents and teachers as they cope and adjust to the education in the new normal. “This is exactly what I want to address, in very simple terms,” he said. “Trust your instincts, trust your heart — you can never, ever go wrong,” he added.
Teachers, Luistro said, should know what is the best for their students. “You know your students, you’ve worked with them for years,” he explained. “Have the learner the center of every decision and in every move – and you will never, ever go wrong,” he added.
