Mario movie star Anya Taylor-Joy, who plays Princess Peach in the new film, wants to see one of her former co-stars in a Super Mario Bros. Movie 2.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie star Anya Taylor-Joy believes that one of her former celebrity co-stars should have a voice role in the next Mario film. Taylor-Joy portrays Princess Peach in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom and Mario's main love interest. Peach's damsel in distress status has been given a major upgrade, with the princess now being portrayed as a fierce warrior willing to do anything to protect the Toads of her kingdom.
While she isn't sure who McAvoy could best portray, she believes he would be a fantastic addition to the existing celebrity voice cast. While McAvoy is best known for live-action performances like Professor X in the X-Men film series and Kevin Wendell Crumb in Split, the prolific actor has had multiple voice roles in the past. He voiced Hazel in the 2018 TV adaptation of Watership Down, a dark fantasy drama based on the 1972 novel of the same name. As for family films, McAvoy lent his voice to Gnomeo and Juliet and its sequel, Sherlock Gnomes, playing the protagonist Gnomeo.
