Princess Kate has publicly announced she is in remission after a cancer diagnosis. In an Instagram post, she expressed gratitude for the support she received during treatment and excitement for the future. During a solo visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital, where she will now serve as co-patron alongside Prince William, Kate shared details about her experience with patients, revealing she received a port for treatment.
“It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery,” she wrote in the caption. “As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead.” The post was the first time that the princess or her spokespeople have used the word “remission.
” Kate’s solo visit came with the announcement that she would be joining her husband, Prince William, as a co-patron of the Royal Marsden Hospital. William became the hospital’s president in 2007, following in the footsteps of his late mother, Princess Diana, and in 2022, he became the hospital’s Patron. Before this week, Kensington Palace had declined to share information about where Kate has received her treatments.
