Prince William is reportedly planning to remove the historic ‘Homage of the People’ from his coronation. The invite to the nation to swear their allegiance to the monarch as part of King Charles's coronation received negative reactions.

‘There is no way he will go down that route or anything like it,’ they stressed, only a week after the coronation. The heir to the throne is said to have been carefully ‘reflecting’ on the events with his closest friends and advisers. A royal source added: ‘He is really thinking, how do we make his coronation feel most relevant in the future?
‘He is mindful of the fact that in 20 years’ time, or whenever his time comes, how can the coronation be modern but also unifying to the nation and the Commonwealth?
