Prince William once demanded that Prince Harry shave off his beard, because William wasn't allowed to keep his own facial hair.

Beards, however, once caused tension between William and his brother, Prince Harry.
William has typically kept his face clean-shaven, dating back to his time in the Royal Air Force, where facial hair is forbidden. The future monarch once wore a beard in 2008 while joining the royal family for Christmas Day church service, but it never returned—until now. Harry, meanwhile, kept a beard regularly starting in 2015, and was even allowed to wear it during his wedding to Meghan Markle with special permission from Queen Elizabeth.
"I didn't want her coming down the aisle and seeing a total stranger," Harry wrote in the book. Elizabeth ultimately allowed Harry's beard to stay, but William "bristled" after learning Harry got the green light and demanded he "shave it off.""Ah—there it was," Harry wrote. "After he's come back from an assignment with Special Forces, Willy was sporting a full beard, and someone told him to be a good boy, run along, and shave it.
