Prince William found out about Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis right before his godfather's memorial service, according to sources.

At the time, however, William simply cited "personal reasons" for his absence. It was reported that the personal matter had nothing to do with his father King Charles's cancer diagnosis and Kensington Palace also assured the public Middleton was "doing well" following her planned abdominal surgery in a statement.On Friday , the Princess of Wales announced that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer.
She continued, "We hope that you’ll understand that as a family, we now need some time, space, and privacy while I complete my treatment. My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy, and I look forward to being back when I’m able. But for now, I must focus on making a full recovery.
