The coffin will lie in state for several days before it makes its way to its final resting place at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, where she will be buried next to Prince Philip.
"The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow," the royal family said in a statement last Thursday.
