The pair hosted a luncheon for military service members in commemoration of Veteran's Day.

Prince Harry spent a decade in the military, and for Veterans Day, he and Meghan Markle paid tribute to his fellow soldiers. On Thursday, the royal couple took a trip to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey for a luncheon and meet-and-greet with service members across six military branches plus their spouses.

For the occasion, Meghan wore a black Giorgio Armani faux-wrap dress with a poppy on the lapel—paired with matching Giorgio Armani heels—and accessorized with bracelets by Cartier and Jennifer Meyer. Harry wore a grey suit over a simple white shirt. At the luncheon, the couple talked about mental health, giving back in service, and the importance of community. Per a spokesperson, the royal pair have"committed themselves to remembering, reflecting and honoring service members, veterans, and military families from around the world."The duke retired from service in 2015. Throughout the visit, he opened up about the formative experience.

"But in war, you also see and experience things you hope no one else has to," he continued."These stay with us, sometimes like a slideshow of images."in New York City. There, Meghan wore a scarlet dress by Carolina Herrera, paired with a smokey eye makeup and her hair pinned up in an elegant, sleek bun. The two also matched in red poppy pins to honor Remembrance Day back in the U.K.

Throughout the gala, the duke honored service members and presented the inaugural Intrepid Valor Awards to those"living with the invisible wounds of war." During his speech, he said, “As we honor and reflect on Remembrance Day in the UK, which shares a date with Veterans Day here in the US, my hope is for all of us to continue to support the wellbeing and recognize the value of our troops, veterans, and the entire military and service family. We and they are better for it.
