Explains the success of both Off Campus and Spider-Noir series on Prime Video, highlighting the drama series' stream dominance and the comic-based adventure series' critical and audience successes
Prime Video is having a massive year with new titles surging for the platform. 2026 has featured several new Prime Video TV shows, from adapting various books to the screen as well as new original IPs for the streaming service.
While the summer season is now underway, the #1 spot on the streamer has found a new winner. While Nicolas Cage's Spider-Noir series has remained #1 for a few weeks, the Marvel drama has officially been dethroned by a different Prime Video hit. Off Campus is now holding that place both in the United States and worldwide.
The romance entry is currently sitting at #1 for Prime Video in Switzerland, Sweden, South Africa, Portugal, Philippines, India, Hungary, Greece, Germany, the Czech Republic, Canada, Belgium, Austria, Australia, and Argentina. Off Campus season 1 is also performing for Amazon's streaming service at #2 in Brazil, Colombia, Denmark, Indonesia, Ireland, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and England.
Even though Spider-Noir has been dethroned by Off Campus, Cage's Marvel adventure is still surging at #2 on Prime Video in the Czech Republic, Greece, Argentina, Canada, Hungary, Finland, Belgium, Philippines, Turkey, and South Africa. While both properties have become giants on the digital platform, only one of them has been renewed for another season. Off Campus season 2 is officially moving forward, while Prime Video hasn't decided yet if the Spider-Man TV show is continuing.
However, that doesn't mean the Ben Reilly-centered story is over yet, as a season 2 decision could happen later in 2026. When speaking to ScreenRant's Grant Hermanns, showrunner Oren Uziel gave the following tease about a potential Spider-Noir season 2: " going to be an increasingly chaotic and conflict-heavy time in the world. I want to see where Ben, Robbie, and Karen might get up to, and what adventures they might get up to embark upon.
" If Cage's comic book series doesn't get renewed, Prime Video is also developing shows for other Spider-Man variants. Both of the Prime Video shows have also become critical successes, as Off Campus season 1 is sitting at 93% on Rotten Tomatoes while Spider-Noir holds a 91% rating.
The dramedy, which is based on Elle Kennedy's novel franchise, has an 88% audience score, while the web-crawler's show has 93% In ScreenRant's Off Campus review, El Kuiper praised season 1's adaptation of the books, while also making solid changes. Kuiper stated that "the changes they make to Hannah and Garrett's stories, both individually and as a couple, actually help alleviate this issue. Small screen Hannah is still a music major, but with a vastly different focus.
Her songwriting journey beautifully ties in with her desire to acknowledge her traumatic past and reclaim her sexual agency.

For ScreenRant's Spider-Noir review, Felipe Rangel complimented Cage's project for being "an intriguing superhero series that offers plenty of excitement through its binge-worthy crime story with nuanced characters. If Amazon MGM Studios chooses to renew Spider-Noir for season 2, I'll gladly watch more of Cage's kooky private detective/superhero, even though the end of these episodes does not make it quite clear where the story could go.
" Spider-Noir and Off Campus season 1 are both available to stream on Prime Video. Off Campus is a college drama released in 2026, centering on a student tutor assisting a hockey captain in winning over her crush. As they navigate college life, their arrangement develops into a deeper connection, compelling them to confront unresolved emotions and past decisions.
