Jason Momoa is, unquestionably, one of the most entertaining action stars in the world. One of his biggest early projects came over 10 years ago on Road to Paloma, the gripping thriller currently streaming for free on Tubi that he stars in and directed.
He later exploded to new levels of stardom with his role as Aquaman in Zack Snyder’s DCEU, and he’s also been tapped to play a new role, Lobo, in James Gunn’s DCU. Just last year, he starred in A Minecraft Movie, which co-stars Jack Black. His latest movie is The Wrecking Crew, which picks up after the death of Walter Hale , bringing together his sons, Jonny and James . Jonny catches the first flight from Oklahoma back to Hawaii, and both estranged brothers begin investigating their father’s death separately. Their paths lead them back together as they are forced to reconcile their differences if they are to have any hope of learning what really happened to their father. Spider-Man veteran Jacob Batalon also has a role in The Wrecking Crew, along with Stephen Root, who plays the town’s local detective, also working to solve the case of Walter’s murder. The Wrecking Crew has been streaming on Prime Video for just over 10 days now, and the film has yet to be dethroned from the top spot. Even other blockbusters like Ballerina and A Working Man have failed to knock it off the top of the mountain. The Wrecking Crew earned a Certified Fresh 74% from critics and a 68% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. The film has drawn comparisons to Mel Gibson and Danny Glover's Lethal Weapon, with both featuring two wildly different personalities butting heads while trying to solve a case. What Else Is Streaming on Prime Video Right Now? The Wrecking Crew took the top spot on Prime Video movie charts from The Tank, the record-breaking WWII movie being compared to Brad Pitt’s Fury. It also surpassed Ballerina, the aforementioned John Wick spin-off starring Ana de Armas, and Trap House, another Dave Bautista-starring action movie that also features Bobby Cannavale. Prime Video also has several hit TV shows dominating streaming charts right now, not least of which is Fallout, the critically acclaimed video game adaptation starring Walton Goggins and Ella Purnell. It's holding the top spot over Steal, the new crime thriller show led by Game of Thrones veteran Sophie Turner.
