Kyra Sedgwick stands outside watching someone from the front lawn, in The Summer I Turned Pretty

When we eventually look back on 2025, there will be a select few titles that will define the year's television. Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham took a powerful series to the heart of the British government in Adolescence; Noah Wyle changed the medical drama game with The Pitt; Severance kept millions guessing throughout its hugely successful Season 2; and Netflix's biggest series ever, Stranger Things, came to an explosive end.

However, few shows dominated the summer discourse quite like The Summer I Turned Pretty. In the third season, Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, and Gavin Casalegno were caught once again in a twisting love triangle, only for Belly to finally make her decision and split the fanbase in half. Season 3 was an enormous hit for Prime Video, earning 70 million viewers worldwide in its first 70 days, marking a 65% increase over Season 2. This was also three times the viewership of Season 1, helped by Season 3's placement as the number one most-watched series in over 140 countries at one time. That huge success on the streaming charts was palpable throughout 2025, but it certainly hasn't gone away. In fact, despite it being eight months since the Season 3 premiere made its streaming splash, the show is still hitting new milestones. This past week, The Summer I Turned Pretty just passed 200 days on the Prime Video streaming charts in the U.S. At tenth in the list, the series is still proving relevant despite the success of more recent hits such as Fallout Season 2 and the return of Ben Watkins' Cross. Creator Jenny Han will return to pen the story, which will follow Belly's game-changing decision at the end of Season 3. Production dates or much information is not yet known, and it is likely we won't see this return to Cousins Beach for some time yet. The Summer I Turned Pretty is available to stream on Prime Video.
