In just a few weeks, The Boys will officially come to an end, leaving a massive hole in Prime Video's catalog that needs filled. Starting back in 2019, the comic adaptation became a massive hit on the streaming platform, as fans instantly resonated with The Boys' unique take on the superhero genre, which felt bloated when it first released.
Giving people something fun and fresh to sink their teeth into helped elevate the show's popularity, and it has only continued to grow since then. Spawning two spinoffs and lasting five seasons also allowed it to become one of the most recognizable projects on TV, but Prime Video will need a new flagship series when The Boys ends in May. Fortunately, there is no shortage of replacements.
Following Gen V's cancellation, it looked like the streaming service may have a tough time finding alternatives to The Boys, as the spinoff was successful. However, between Invincible, Spider-Noir, and Vought Rising, Prime Video looks spoiled for choice regarding its next big superhero juggernaut. Considering Invincible is already four seasons deep with a fifth in development, it's clear the platform already has a lot of faith in this animated masterpiece.
With a bit more investment, particularly into its animation, Invincible could easily step up and fill the void left by The Boys, making it a great alternative for fans of the show. Likewise, Vought Rising is yet another new The Boys spinoff that will follow familiar characters in a prequel, indicating that it should capture a similar audience.
Finally, Spider-Noir is perhaps the most different of the bunch, but given Spider-Man's popularity, this unique project looks bound to be big. The question is, which will be the ideal replacement? Which Of Prime Video's 3 The Boys Replacements Is Most Exciting? Choosing which of these three The Boys replacements are most exciting is entirely subjective, but each of them has their merits.
With Invincible, there is already clear evidence of the show's quality, with all but the first season scoring a 100% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and season 1 still managed a 98% score, which is great for its debut. Each outing has grown in quality, and after Invincible season 4's ending, only comic readers will have an idea of where the story is heading next.
Although it's not as satirical as The Boys, the animated gem is still hilarious at times and every bit as bloody, giving both projects that same dark edge that earns them constant comparisons. Spider-Noir holds intrigue for completely different reasons, as the show will offer a live-action take on Spider-Man as we've never seen before.
The thriller is set to follow Spider-Noir, AKA Ben Reilly, as he battles personal struggles and unique versions of Spider-Man's rogue gallery, with the series taking place in 1930s New York. The upcoming superhero show will also have two versions, premiering in both black-and-white and in color. With Nicolas Cage already nailing this character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, it's hard not to be curious about Spider-Noir, which is bound to be memorable for better or for worse.
Both of these shows look like great options for The Boys fans, but Vought Rising is easily the most exciting of the three, since it takes place within the same franchise. Described as a murder mystery set in the 1950s, Vought Rising is set to star Soldier Boy and Stormfront, two central antagonists from the main show.
Learning more about this duo, Vought, and Compound V, should make this spinoff a fascinating watch, and since The Boys season 5 has been teasing Vought Rising, it's clear there are a lot of plans for the 2027 series. As a result, it feels like the most natural successor, and thus, the best replacement for The Boys.
Other The Boys Replacements Are Likely On The Way While Prime Video has no reason to be concerned about The Boys' conclusion, given the various alternatives it has lined up, there already looks to be even more replacements on the way. Firstly, The Boys: Mexico was announced back in late 2023, and despite there only being a few substantial updates since then, it is still in production.

This will add yet another entry to this already fleshed-out universe, and it's unlikely to be the last The Boys spinoff either. After the cancellation of Gen V, showrunner Eric Kripke talked about characters from the show potentially appearing in other Vought Cinematic Universe projects, suggesting this franchise has plenty of life in it yet. So long as supes are still alive and The Boys has interesting characters around, there will seemingly always be more story to tell.
Even if this means The Boys becomes a victim of its own satire by adding constant sequels and spinoffs to the IP, it's hard to see a reason to end while the franchise remains popular.
