There are a number of brands of solar eclipse glasses on sale for Prime Day on Amazon on Oct. 11, 2023. The glasses can be used to safely view the ring-of-fire solar eclipse on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023. In Pennsylvania, if the weather is clear, we will be able to see a partial eclipse.
According to NASA, on Saturday, the moon will pass between the sun and Earth. Because the moon is farther away from Earth, it will appear smaller than the sun and create the ring-of-fire effect. The eclipse will start just after 9 a.m. in Oregon in the Pacific Time Zone, which is just after noon here. It will be over by 2:30 p.m. Eastern time. It will travel from the coast of Oregon to the Texas Gulf Coast. It will be visible, NASA said, in “Oregon, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, and Texas, as well as some parts of California, Idaho, Colorado, and Arizona.”
