Mayor Gardner even criticized the permitless carry law that went into effect in 2023.
This is the second time in less than two weeks the city of Prichard has addressed senseless gun violence.Lieutenant Robert Martin and Mayor Jimmie Gardner say the gun violence is getting out of hand.
“These young people are getting guns offline, they’re getting guns from people that are buying them for them. So they have access to guns more than we do in here,” Lt. Martin said. “So we’re just asking legislative people to make some stricter laws on this gun violence.”“I begged the folks in Montgomery. I reached out to the governor, ATF on the federal level, and all other law-enforcement agencies that we come together,” Mayor Gardner said.
With no word on the whereabouts of the 16-year-old, police are once again pleading for people to come forward. “I know people don’t like to deal with the police but this is what you have to do to curtail this stuff,” he said. “You have us to go out and fight your battles for you.”Debby washes road away from beneath family: ‘The car was down.
