They are divided into three volumes and include Disney's animated classics, such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Bambi, and Cinderella, and newer works like Encanto and Turning Red. Customers can pre-order the production beginning on September 18, while the physical product will be released on November 18. However, the price tag on the box set has been revealed, and it's a whopping $1,500.
Why Is Disney's Box Set So Expensive? While this massive box set looks appealing, many customers may be dissuaded by the price tag. Unfortunately, Disney has a reputation for being overly pricey regarding its merchandise and resorts. Many were shocked when Disney World's Galactic Starcruiser Star Wars hotel boasted a price tag of nearly $5,000 for a two-night stay for two people and when a Disney cruise began offering a $5,000 Kyber Crystal cocktail.
Customers will receive a list of digital codes for each poster, a certificate of authentication, a lithograph of Disney's upcoming film Wish, the original theatrical poster art for every film, and one pair of collectible crystal Mickey ears. Hence, the $1,500 price tag means that a buyer is paying about $15 per movie and getting a lot of bonus collectibles. However, many older movies could sell for significantly less than $15 and are available to stream with a Disney+ subscription.
