KUALA LUMPUR: There are eight controlled items for Chinese New Year, with imported round cabbages from Indonesia and China (excluding Beijing), imported potatoes from China and garlic among the items on the list.
The price control scheme, enforced on Sunday, will remain in effect until Jan 29.
Those failing to do so and those breaking the ceiling prices will be penalised, said the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry.
