The sighting of the new moon is estimated to be announced on Friday evening or Saturday. It will mark the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and the start of Eid al-Fitr, which centres around a large feast, religious and family celebrations.
Muktar Master, the Muslim Faith Covenant representative for Preston said, “I am proud to live in a city where we are able to live and work together with respect for each other’s beliefs and customs.
