Finally, an update!
Ikea has pushed forward with plans to open a store in Preston with a planning application now formally submitted.
Ikea announced the plan in October and has remained tight-lipped on when the new unit will open, only saying that it wouldn't be before Christmas 2022. It has now taken a key step with the submission of the planning application which would allow it to operate the dual purpose collection point and showroom at Deepdale.If approved, Ikea will take over the former Toolstation unit at Deepdale Trade Park, which forms part of the wider Deepdale Retail Park.
