President Trump said the special counsel shouldn't testify, and called for “no redos” of the two-year probe that found no conspiracy between him and Russia.
“After spending more than $35,000,000 over a two year period, interviewing 500 people, using 18 Trump Hating Angry Democrats & 49 FBI Agents - all culminating in a more than 400 page Report showing NO COLLUSION - why would the Democrats in Congress now need Robert Mueller to testify,” Trump tweeted Sunday.
The proposed date for Mueller’s testimony on the report is May 15, two weeks after Attorney General Barr testified before the Senate Judiciary Hearing, during which Democrats grilled his summary of the Mueller report. Mueller contested Barr’s summary of the report in a March 27 letter, saying that the memo"did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this office’s work and conclusions.” Mueller and Barr discussed the special counsel’s objections.
