Presiden Georgia tak iktiraf keputusan pilihan raya, dakwa campur tangan Russia
TBILISI: Presiden Georgia, Salome Zourabichvili tidak mengiktiraf keputusan pilihan raya Parlimen pada hujung minggu lalu yang dimenangi oleh parti pemerintah, Georgian Dream.
Zourabichvili menyeru rakyat Georgia berhimpun di jalan utama Tbilisi malam ini, untuk membantah penipuan besar-besaran, kecurian undi secara total, sekali gus meningkatkan prospek ketidakstabilan politik di negara rantau Kaukasus Selatan itu. Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya Pusat mengumumkan parti Georgian Dream meraih 54.8 peratus undian pada pilihan raya yang berlangsung Sabtu lalu, dengan hampir kesemua undi telah dikira.Jun lalu, Brussels menggantung proses keahlian Georgia dalam Kesatuan Eropah kerana undang-undang ‘pengaruh asing’ ala-Rusia yang dikuatkuasakan.
Kempen pilihan raya diselubungi perbalahan politik dan dakwaan kempen kotor, di samping kejadian pembelian undi dan keganasan fizikal.
