Neon releases a teaser poster and announces a release date window for Presence, a new thriller movie directed by Steven Soderbergh.
The film premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival this past January, where it received largely positive reviews from critics. It was then purchased by Neon has also announced that Presence will be released in United States theaters in January 2025.
. An exact release date has not yet been publicly set at this time. While not much is known about the plot of Presence, the movie revolves around a family moving into a new house only to discover that there may or may not be a potentially dangerous entity living there. It stars Soderbergh is perhaps best known for making the trilogy of Ocean’s heist movies, which includes 2001’s Ocean’s Eleven, 2004’s Ocean’s Twelve, and 2007’s Ocean’s Thirteen. He’s also directed movies such as 1989’s Sex, Lies, and Videotape, 1998’s Out of Sight, 2000’s Erin Brockovich, 2002’s Solaris, 2011’s Contagion, 2012’s Magic Mike, 2013’s Side Effects, 2017’s Logan Lucky, 2018’s Unsane, 2021’s No Sudden Move, and 2022’s Kimi, among others. In addition to Presence, Soderbergh has another movie in the works that is titled Black Bag. With the screenplay also written by Koepp, Black Bag is a spy thriller that will star Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender, Regé-Jean Page, Marisa Abela, Naomie Harris, Pierce Brosnan, and Tom Burke.
