Public Affairs Manager of AAA, Kara Hitchens, says you should check your vehicle before heading out. Some checklist items include:While on the roads, you may notice more law enforcement. Sgt. Tyler Ross with the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Public Affairs Unit says there are“The patrol last year during our reporting period made 326 OVI arrests," Ross said. "That does not include deputies, police officers, or any other law enforcement partners.

To stop impaired drivers on the road, the Ohio Traffic Safety Office will offer rideshare credits through Lyft. The inclement weather will also play a role as a wintry mix arrives by Wednesday evening and into Thursday. ODOT press secretary Matt Bruning says to be vigilant as crews work to keep roads clear.
“We'll have a lot of snow plows out in northeast Ohio," Bruning said. "We could have plows out elsewhere in the state as we get just a light wintry mix or even just some frost on the bridges. We treat for that as well. So when you see those plows out, make sure you're giving them room to work as well.”
