The 2023/24 NBA season is upon us and who better to preview the action than the stars of the league? This season also features a new In-Season Tournament, which should provide fans with a new viewing experience.
Staff Reports Rehobeth, G.W. Long and Wicksburg all won two matches Wednesday at the South Super Regional Tournament in Montgomery to advance to the regional semifinals and more importantly earn a spot in next week’s state tournament in Birmingham.

Long, meanwhile, earned a seventh straight state tournament appearance with two wins on Thursday – a 25-9, 25-5, 25-9 win over Geneva County and a 25-17, 25-17, 17-25, 25-19 win over Isabella. All the other Wiregrass teams were eliminated, though three teams made it to the quarterfinals. Houston Academy won its opener in Class 3A over Excel 25-8, 25-5, 25-2 before losing to No. 6 ranked Prattville Christian 25-12, 25-17, 22-25, 25-11. The Raiders, No. 9 in the rankings, had a string of five straight state tournaments appearances snapped. They finished the season with a 21-14 record.
Providence Christian had a streak of 15 straight state tournament appearances come to an end with a regional opening loss.
