Liverpool were made to work hard for a 1-0 victory over Newcastle United to move top of the Premier League table on Saturday afternoon. SLInt MORE:

Jurgen Klopp made a number of changes from the win over Benfica, as Mohamed Salah, Fabinho, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Thiago Alcantara dropped to the bench.

Klopp's charges got the breakthrough on 19 minutes when Jota slipped in Keita, who showed great composure to dummy the goalkeper before firing into the back of the net. Liverpool nearly bagged a second goal just before the break when Henderson's cross found Jota's head, but Newcastle goalkeeper Matt Dubravka produced fine save to tip over the crossbar.

That proved to be the final moment for Mane, who was replaced by Salah for the final 20 minutes while Fabinho replaced Jordan Henderson in midfield.
