A Prattville man has been charged with theft after admitting to embezzling from his employer, according to the Millbrook Police Department.
MILLBROOK, Ala. -
19-year-old Jauriesh Z. Johnson, was arrested by Prattville Police Department Friday and transported to the Millbrook Police Department for processing on one count of Theft of Property 1st Degree. The investigation began on Feb. 26 when Millbrook police responded to a business in the 3500 block of Highway 14, with regard to employee theft. The call was made by a district manager of the business who had been investigating an employee suspected of theft. When the employee, Johnson, was questioned, he admitted to having embezzled from the business.
Financial records from the business confirm that cash deposits were not made into said businesses’ account from Jan 25 through Feb. 19. Johnson, who was the manager of the store, was supposed to be the one making the deposits.“We see this type of crime all too often.
