Power has been restored for businesses and the University of Washington-Tacoma campus along Pacific Avenue.
It could be weeks before several businesses and the University of Washington-Tacoma campus get power back after an outage. caused severe damage to the campus’s electrical system causing a campus-wide power outage , and even knocking out power to businesses.
“Our employees have been out of work for over three weeks now and so it’s been difficult on us to try and pay rent for this place but also to keep our employees in their houses and everything," said Ryan Gibson, an employee at the Jimmy Johns along Pacific Ave. “I was confused because I didn’t know what happened it just said there was a tragic accident so I didn’t know if someone died or not," said Tyler Wells, a student at UW Tacoma.
Saran sharing that he's glad to be back because he worried about the impact this power outage would have if he wasn't able to return in person.
