A feature of the storm has been “brutal cold” more than heavy snow, said the National Weather Service. Power outages affected more than 1.4 million homes and businesses, with outages spanning more than 25 states, from Maine to Texas. More than 200-million Americans — around 60% of the country — were under some form of winter weather warning or advisory on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
