Poway High School emerged victorious in the CIF San Diego Section Division 2 championship, defeating Mater Dei Catholic with a score of 62-24. The game showcased outstanding performances and a significant number of penalties.

“The record doesn’t indicate what kind of team we are,” said Poway coach Brandon Harris. “We’re 3-0 in the record that counts. That’s the playoffs. We’re undefeated, and we’re a tough out.”“I was locked in,” said Jorgensen. “I know I kind of look like I’m jogging, then I kind of bounce off people. Sometimes I surprise myself. I think I should go down, then I just keep going.”
What is hard to describe is a game with 34 penalties for 230 yards — 22 for 185 against Mater Dei Catholic and 12 for 145 yards against Poway. Another six penalties were declined.Poway had lost six games in a row coming into the playoffs. The Titans were 0-6 in the Avocado League.
