Budget retailer Poundland has opened a new store in Shrewsbury, taking over the unit previously occupied by Wilkos. This is one of 56 rapid Wilko-to-Poundland conversions happening across the country. The store offers a wide range of grocery, household, and general merchandise, as well as the latest Pepco family clothing. Customers are pleased to see familiar faces from the old Wilkos store.
The new shop is in the same unit which was occupied by Wilkos in the Darwin Centre until the chain went bust.
"Staff are in good spirits and the customers are glad to see some of the old staff they already know.The store carries extensive grocery, household and general merchandise ranges customers expect. The company is also opening a new store in Newport, having recently launched at Forge Retail Park in Telford too.
