Poteet Independent School District announced Friday morning that it will be sending students home early due to a series of email threats received by the district. Poteet ISD Superintendent of Schools Charles Camarillo confirmed that it was a bomb threat sent to two teachers.

He also said the schools were evacuated almost immediately after the threat was received. 'We’re living in a time and age where we’re just going to take everything seriously,' said Camarillo. District officials are currently working with local law enforcement to investigate the threat, but there are no reports of any immediate danger at this time. Poteet ISD Police said that 'all children have moved to a safe location, or parents have picked them up. Departments are on the scene to make sure the campus is safe.
