Two police officers who were murdered seven years apart in Lanarkshire have been honoured posthumously by First Minister Humza Yousaf.

The awards recognise acts of bravery and heroism across Scotland, with nominations made by the emergency services, and winners selected by an independent validation panel.The family of Constable Taylor was repeatedly refused a posthumous award by the UK Government. He had been recommended for a bravery award at the time by Strathclyde Police chief constable Patrick Hamill, but his bravery went unrecognised.
