The endorsement comes after President Donald Trump's resistance to Postal Service funding amid his fight against expanded mail-in voting.
WASHINGTON — Joe Biden gained the presidential endorsement of the National Association of Letter Carriers on Friday, a union that boasts nearly 300,000 active and retired postal workers.
The endorsement comes less than three months before Election Day and one day after Republican President Donald Trump publicly admitted he opposes Postal Service funding pushed by Democrats because that would advance the cause of mail-in voting during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. "Now they need that money in order to have the Post Office work so it can take all of these millions and millions of ballots. Now, in the meantime, they aren’t getting there. By the way, those are just two items," Trump said on Fox Business Network."But if they don’t get those two items, that means you can’t have universal mail-in voting, because they’re not equipped to have it.
