The changes to mail prices would be for the busy holiday season, in effect from Oct. 2 until Jan. 23, 2023. Would this change your holiday preparations?
“This temporary rate adjustment is similar to ones in past years that help cover extra handling costs to ensure a successful peak season,” USPS said in a statement. “This seasonal adjustment will bring prices for the Postal Service’s commercial and retail customers in line with competitive practices.”
The price increases depend on the weight of the package and would include Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, First Class Package Service, Parcel Select and USPS Retail Ground. Priority Mail Express and Priority Mail price increases will range from 25 cents to $6.50. A similar range of increases will be in First-Class Package Service, Parcel Select Ground, and USPS Retail Ground from a low of 25 cents to a high of $5.85.
