The Post Fire started in Gorman Saturday afternoon.
A large fire in Los Angeles County is burning at nearly 15,000 acres, according to CAL FIRE .Strong winds and steep terrain are the largest issues fire crews are facing.
The winds are probably going to be the biggest factor in battling this blaze. We're going to have gusts as high as 60 MPH, but that would not be a constant," said Craig Little from LA County Fire Department. Evacuations have been issued for areas west of Interstate 5 between Pyramid Lake and Gorman. This includes the Hungry Valley State Vehicular Recreation Area.
Officials are warning residents in the wildfire’s path to be prepared to leave if it explodes in size again."We saw the smoke coming up, but it wasn't that bad yet," she says. "Eventually, we're like, we don't think it's safe. It might be fine, but, you know, 5% chance, it might not be fine. And then it became like a 10-20% chance. And then eventually the sheriff was just like, you guys gotta go.
