Martinez took over from Fernando Santos after Portugal's disappointing quarter-final exit at the 2022 FIFA world Cup at the hands of Morocco.The former Belgium tactician has decided to call-up Cristiano Ronaldo, who left European borders for Saudi Arabian outfit Al Nassr in December.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is a very committed player. He can bring experience and is a very important figure for the team. I don't look at age," Martinez told reporters, as per goal. The 37-year-old has netted eight goals in seven Saudi Pro League games for Al Nassr in the last two months.
