Pompey boss John Mousinho has given an injury update ahead of Saturday's big kick off
Portsmouth will be missing two first-team stars for Saturday's Championship curtain-raiser against Leeds United at Elland Road - but manager John Mousinho has allayed fears new signing Josh Murphy could also miss the big kick-off.
Portsmouth are already missing Tom McIntyre and Jacob Farrell for the trip to Elland Road, and Mousinho saw winger Murphy pick up an ankle injury in the first half at Charlton, with the new signing from Oxford forced off. However, he is hopeful Murphy, the brother of Newcastle United winger Jacob, will be fit to face Leeds as the Championship season gets under way.
However, fellow new signing Jacob Farrell andTom McIntyre have both been ruled out after missing Saturday's friendly. "With everything that’s happening with Jacob, such as coming over from Australia and not being able to settle into training straight away, it’s about making sure we treat that one as we need to treat it."
