Officials evacuated a Portland amusement park after a ride got stuck upside down Friday afternoon.

The ride is at Oaks Amusement Park and is called "AtmosFEAR" and left 28 riders stranded for about 25 minutes, according to park officialsEmergency responders quickly got to the scene and were able to manually bring the ride to the ground.911 dispatchers say responders have trained for situations like this at the ride.

"Just last year our crews were down here with our high angle group and trained and drilled specifically on this ride so they were very well versed with a pre-plan of what actions to take," one dispatcher told KATU News.

Park officials said the riders who got stuck on the ride were evaluated by Portland Fire & Rescue and American Medical Response. One person with pre-existing conditions was taken to the hospital to be checked out as a precaution, and medics cleared everyone else to go home. Oaks Park said it will work with the ride's manufacturer and state inspectors to find out what caused the ride to stop.Park officials said anyone who had their visit cut short because of the incident will be given a refund or they can reschedule another visit.
