Port Adelaide star Dan Houston is staring down the barrel of a hefty suspension after knocking out Izak Rankine with a brutal bump during Saturday night’s Showdown. With eight minutes remaining in the third term, Rankine stood under a high ball waiting for it to come down.
Houston collects Rankine with huge bump. As soon as the Crow took possession, Houston came charging in and collected him front on with a massive bump. Rankine appeared to be knocked out in the collision with an all-in melee breaking out between the two sides. Rankine was eventually stretchered off and subbed out of the game. Given that Houston elected to bump and Rankine suffered what appeared to be a serious injury then the Port Adelaide gun will come under heavy scrutiny.
