GET FOX BUSINESS ON THE GO BY CLICKING HERE "For the first time in our icon’s 61-year history, we are installing a hybrid drive system in a roadgoing 911," Frank Moser, vice president of Porsche’s 911 and 718 model lines, said in a statement.
The hybrid 911 variant notched a lap-time 8.7 seconds quicker than its predecessor while completing testing at the Nurburgring Nordschleife track, Porsche said. Porsche previously said the "ultra-sporty" hybrid 911 will make the "six-cylinder even faster and more efficient." In April, the luxury automaker indicated a new 911 model line launch would happen after the luxury automaker released its latest Panamera and Taycan options. A new Macan is also in the works. Two new models of Porsche’s electric Taycan sedan – the four-seat Taycan Turbo GT and its two-seat sister Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach package – were unveiled in March.
