Porsche Design Auctioning This Unique 1972 911 Targa And One-Off Timepiece | Carscoops carscoops
S 2.4 Targa and a one-of-a-kind timepiece from Porsche Design will be auctioned off by RM Sotheby’s in an online auction running from November 29 to December 14.and was built as part of the Sonderwunsch program. The exterior of the car is dominated by black but also features ‘Porsche Design’ lettering on both sides and a Targa bar finished in high-gloss platinum.are a host of black parts as well as Sport-Tex material finished in a classic checkered pattern in black and cool gray.
Set to be sold alongside the 911 is a one-off version of the limited anniversary edition Chronograph 1. The timepiece has a winding rotor on the back of the case that mimics the design of the Fuchs rims of the Targa from 1972. It also rocks a dial, crown, wristband, and case back with the historic Porsche Design logo.
“The two one-of-a-kind collectibles are just as unique and exceptional as Porsche Design’s heritage,” Porsche Lifestyle Group chief executive Stefan Buescher says. “They embody the fascination and the myth of the automotive lifestyle brand and convey the design philosophy of F. A. Porsche.”
