The food critic dubbed the meal “a porkfection!” Little did she know, her review of the Pork Nasi Kandar got a little more attention than she expected. Before we go further, we shall note that the food there is clearly non-Halal, as stated in the caption of the video.The Malaysian Muslim Restaurant Entrepreneurs Association is NOT happy about the influencer’s review of the meal that came with pork dishes, saying it’s an insult to the Nasi Kandar industry. The President of the organisation, Datuk Jawahar Ali Taib Khan said that it may cause confusion to fans of Nasi Kandar, and other customers.
Nasi Kandar with pork dishes may be new but Pork Nasi Lemak, or even Pork Satay has been around for quite some time, and, of course, these menus are catered to non-Muslims.
