“The time has come to share the heartbreaking news that we are closing our doors'
The owner of a popular cake shop in Stockport has made the ‘heartbreaking’ decision to close down after five years in operation.
Owner Kerrie, who has been behind the business since it opened in 2018, made the announcement on social media over the weekend. In a post, she wrote: “The time has come to share the heartbreaking news that we are closing our doors.“Our last day will be Saturday 16th September. At the moment, I don't have much more to say really, except a huge thank you to those who have supported the shop over the past 5 years! It has not gone unnoticed and we will miss you all as much as you will miss us.
The news was met with sadness from Hazel Grove residents who described the Cupped Cake as ‘the best cake shop ever’. Another wrote: “From a fellow cake maker I am sorry to see this. Times are so tough for small businesses and if you don't use them you lose them. I wish you all the best for your future journey wherever it takes you.”
