Dan Gleiter | dgleiter@pennlive.com, the fast-fashion retailer has been looking for a buyer for its U.S. leases. In January, it announced that it was considering other “strategic options” to help keep the company viable. The brand has also considered liquidation if it can’t find a buyer. “The company, with over 500 stores, is working with restructuring adviser BRG to assess possible paths to address its financial challenges,” people familiar the matter told the Wall Street Journal. The company is also trying to find a buyer that could help the chain avoid bankruptcy, one of them said.” Simon Property Group and Brookfield Corporation, alongside Authentic Brands, helped buy the retailer out of bankruptcy in 2020, but the brand has not seen enough growth over the years. In 2023,“I didn’t see Shein, and I didn’t see Temu,” Salter said “My partner, Mr. Simon, said, ‘Why are you going partners with Shein? Like, you think that’s the right decision?’ I said, ‘David, it’s the right decision. We cannot beat them. Their supply chain is too good. They know what’s going on. They’ve figured this out. We need to partner with them.’” It is unclear what Forever 21’s final plans will be, but a spokesperson for the brand told the Wall Street Journal that “the company’s owners are exploring a range of strategic options for the retailer’s operations and said that they are working diligently to achieve the best possible outcome.”Acclaimed actress reveals how false STD diagnosis affected her relationship If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.and agree that your clicks, interactions, and personal information may be collected, recorded, and/or stored by us and social media and other third-party partners in accordance with our
