David Barnett already runs the busy Caledonian Bar on High Street and brings regular music nights
The Tavern 1848 in Perth shut in July but is set to reopen later this month under a new name following some refurbishment.
David told the PA of his plans for Slàinte Bar – which is the Gaelic word for health, and also the new name for the pub at 103 South Street beside the St John’s Shopping Centre entrance.“The premises have been called different things over the years. Older people will remember it as Ye Olde St Johnstoun Tavern, Scaramouche and then latterly, The Tavern.
“When Slàinte opens we are going to have live music, mostly on a Saturday and Sunday. We have a wide range of musicians who have made a regular stop at the Caley so we can move that experience over and with more space maybe also get in bigger bands.
