Daniel Jones won one game as the Giants' starter last season
New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones throws a pass during practice in East Rutherford, N.J, Thursday, June 6, 2024.general manager Joe Schoen has furthered Rich Eisen’s belief that the Giants are done with Daniel Jones after his adamant defense of the quarterback on “Hard Knocks.”Schoen said he’s “not giving up” on Jones, instead blaming the supporting cast and offensive live around Jones for his performance.
But Eisen thinks that because Schoen “volunteered that Daniel Jones was an option for them this year” is a sign.after the NFL combine in April that the Giants were “totally giving up on” Jones, and New York was trying to trade up in the NFL draft to select one of the top quarterbacks to replace him. Jones played in six games last season dealing with a neck injury and tearing his ACL. He threw two touchdowns and six interceptions and won one game as the starter for New York.
In his 60 games with the Giants, Jones has thrown for 12,512 yards, 62 touchdowns and 40 interceptions., and he is hoping the Giants admit he was right — or, at least, it’s proven true at some point during “Hard Knocks.” “I have no problem being wrong about this,” Eisen said. “This is a rumor I heard from multiple people. It’s stuff that I hear all the time. Could those folks have been wrong, thus me coming here and saying it into a mic, been irresponsible? I’m hearing this right. That said, I do want to hear later on. And I hope we will, and it’s possible that we will because the Giants let all this stuff out.”, there’s one year of guaranteed money left.
