Victor Wembanyama's homecoming: Gregg Popovich confirms Spurs will play in Paris next season.
At some point next season, Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs will touch down in France for what might be the most hyped NBA regular-season game ever played abroad. Following Sunday’s 122-115 overtime win over the Nets in Austin, coach Gregg Popovich confirmed the league’s not-so-secret plans to send the Spurs to France during the 2024-25 campaign. “Well, we’re going there,” Popovich said.
The best Spurs coverage in Alamo City, delivered to your inbox The Cavaliers and Nets played in Paris’ Accor Arena back on Jan. 11 as part of the NBA's long-running “Global Games” series. That marked the league’s fourth time playing in France – the fifth should generate astronomical hype on the heels of the Paris 2024 Olympics, where Wembanyama will also compete for his homeland’s national team.
