According to Forbes, the toy company has over 45 films in the works as part of what people are already referring to as the Mattel Cinematic Universe — let the fight for the initials commence — with plans that expand way past potential Barbie sequels.
“As a child who was obsessed with Polly Pocket, this is a real dream come true, and I can’t wait to bring these tiny toys to the big screen,” the actor shared when the film was first announced. According to then-still-director Dunham, Collins’s take on the popular toy will be “adorable and delightful” and, perhaps more importantly, as minuscule as they come, so be ready to squint.
