At least eight polling locations were affected, leading to long lines. County officials received an order from a district judge to extend voting to 8 p.m.; however, voters still must be in line by 7 p.m., according to the order. In North Texas, as of 3:30 p.m., polling location wait times across Dallas and Tarrant counties are generally no longer than half an hour. But voters at two Tarrant County locations --More than 100 election state inspectors are on-site across Texas to ensure voting goes smoothly.
Taylor called the incident a “horrible civil rights violation.” He said the poll worker who oversaw that polling location was dismissed.The state hasn’t reported any security issues, but officials are in contact with the FBI and local law enforcement. Threats to state election officials were referred to the FBI in the run-up to Election Day, but Taylor said he hadn’t “heard of any threats being acted upon.
