GOP leaders say this is needed "to prevent illegal entry and trafficking, and to deport illegal aliens to Mexico or to their nations of origin." UTSA Political Science Chair Jon Taylor says Texas Republicans have brought up the idea of creating a Texas DHS before, but it's never come to fruition."We have a real fight over the state legislature and the direction of the state legislature. It makes perfect sense for Republicans to put this in their platform again, because it is one of those red meat issues for Texas Republicans," Taylor said."My question would be, who has what responsibilities?" Taylor said.
"We've decreased traffic by 72% in the State of Texas while we're seeing traffic go up in California, Arizona, and New Mexico," said Border Czar Mike Banks.Our requests were not returned by the Texas GOP, the Texas GOP Chairman, or the Bexar County GOP Chairman.
